The only way to get to the USS Arizona memorial is to take the water taxi, run by the US Navy, from the interpretive center at Pearl Harbor to the remains of the Arizona. The Memorial was built straddling the Arizona, which was so badly damaged it was never even attempted to be raised. It was a very moving memorial; seeing oil still seep from the wreck and knowing that the 1,013 men who died on the Arizona are still there gives a sharpness to the historic event.
