This was our first glimpse of our destination along the Na Pali trail: secluded Hanakapiai beach. It was where the famous beach scene in "From Here to Eternity" was filmed, and it cannot be reached by car. Although the Na Pali trail continued for another 10 miles past the beach, we knew we would rest and turn around once we reached the beach.
