Busy, busy. I have several posts to make to this blog, so I'll try to catch up this week. I'll start off with an amusing story...
I was working at a different building on Thursday, and a ringing noise suddenly started coming from my laptop. I hadn't heard it before, and I didn't see anything pop-up on my screen, so I had no idea what it was. My only thought was NetMeeting, but it was much softer than my normal NetMeeting sound. It stopped after a few seconds.
A few minutes later, I remembered the laptop sounds had been muted this whole time (the last time I was working in that office, the person next door that "all that beeping" was very distracting, so now I just mute my laptop when I'm there)! That is just plain weird. The guy I was sitting with said it must be a hardware sound, but that didn't seem right, either.
Just then I realized what it was. It was my cell phone that I just got from the project. It was in my pocket and someone had actually tried to call me! Having a cell phone is so unfamiliar to me, that I hadn't even thought to check it.
Now at least I know what it sounds like. And, no, you can't have the number.
